Last weekend, Project Impact proudly hosted its inaugural 5K #RaceForAReason marathon, a powerful student-led initiative that brought together runners, families, and supporters for a meaningful cause.
Organized entirely by a dedicated team of Burlingame High School students from Project Impact, the event was a resounding success. These inspiring young leaders not only envisioned the race but planned, promoted, and executed every detail to raise funds for Project Impact.
What started as a student-led effort to support the Saint Bakhita Early Childhood Development Center in Kalongo, Uganda, has evolved into something much bigger. Project Impact empowers high school students to see themselves as agents of positive change both locally and globally by fostering innovation, empathy, and meaningful service.
The #ReasonToRace event drew participation from over 50 runners, along with their families and community well-wishers. Together, they helped raise more than $6,000 in support of this important cause.

At the Saint Bakhita Innovation Foundation, our mission is to inspire students to dream boldly, act courageously, and believe that their voices and ideas truly matter. Events like #ReasonToRace are proof that when young people are given the platform and trust to lead, remarkable things happen.
We are incredibly proud of Project Impact and their unwavering commitment. Their hard work has not only raised significant funds but has also ignited a movement that connects youth, universities, and communities through compassion and action.
A heartfelt thank you to every runner, volunteer, donor, and supporter who made #ReasonToRace such a success. Together, we are building a generation of compassionate innovators ready to change the world one project at a time.
